being sung:
-------------------------------------
A grain of sand, a fleeding spark,
a whisper echoing through the dark,
so the world is moving, bending the line,
as thought meets dust and flesh defines time.
The stars above serena steel,
are deaf to joy and blind to fear
and we're asking them why we are born,
why hearts must break, why dreams are torn.
The hourglass mocks both king and slave,
its silence is deeper than even the grave
and in its horrible fall a truth may lie:
We are not the WHEN, we are the WHY.
We build our truths on shifting ground,
we chase the echos, but lose the sound
and though we climb with bleeding hands,
the peak dissolves to nameless bands.
So let the night be long and vast
letting the questions always last,
for meaning blooms, not in the end,
but in the roads, we dare to bend.
The hourglass mocks both king and slave,
its silence is deeper than even the grave,
and it is horrible fall a truth may lie:
We are not the WHEN, we are the WHY.
Each second falling like tear,
whispers of hope and surrounded by fear
with run through the shadows searching for light
in the arms of the hourglass, we confront the night.
Time plays its game, it's cruel and it's sweet
reminding us softly we're all incomplete.
We learn to dance with the ticking hand
finding our rhythm and shifting sand
in the quiet moments we hear the call,
the beauty in struggle, the grace in our fall.
The hourglass mocks both king and slave,
its silence is deeper than even the grave
and in its horrible fall a truth may lie:
We are not the WHEN, we are the WHY.
A grain of sand, a fleeding spark
in the heart of the night, we embrace the dark,
…and the conclusion in free verse:
for within every question,
every side is a whisper of truth,
we're not just away, we're here to replace,
to love to try with every great and falls,
we learn to fly...
