The Statue in the little square

The Statue in the little square

My poetic translation of the greek song „To Agalma – The Statue“ (Plessas-Poulopoulos) set in video music in Zeibekiko rhythm by giving my own prompts to AI (Suno) beeing heard on Distrokids platfprms:  https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/gerasimostzivras/the-statue-in-the-little-square

Last night, around midnight, I was walking down the way
to that little square I met you on a long-gone day,
the statue standing near me has remembered us, too
and it didn't refuse to listen to the pain I knew.

So I talked to it about you, about all we'd been
and its stone eyes started welling, I saw its tear, thin,
I told it how you were toward me, all the things you'd do
all the unforgivable, those biggest wrongs of you.

And then, my God, I started sobbing, broken as could be
'til the early dawn found tatters, nothing left of me,
with the statue to the roadway we walked side by side,
It wiped my tears, then we parted, nowhere left to hide.
