Hear now the sorrow of the wounded earth,

Where cruel flames destroy the joy of birth,

That sends a message from its bitter deep

leaving the world in endless woe to weep.

 

Upon the arid plains where shadows fall,

That silence settled like a heavy pall,

The blinding blast unleashed a scar so wide

Strickening voices had no place to hide.

 

Oh, let the frantic mushroom clouds expire

And sweep away the tracks of ruthless fire,

Let peace awaken in our fragile home,

Wherever winds of innocence may roam.

 

Join hands together, nations of the sphere,

Until the aching world forgets its fear

That every threat of ruin may depart

And hope beats steady in a healing heart.
